An Interview With Ted Schredd – Author Of “The Cycling Adventures Of Coconut Head”

June 4, 2008 by Darren Alff

The Cycling Adventures of Coconut HeadAfter returning from a canoe trip in Western Canada, my Aunt Christi and Uncle Tom presented me with a gift: A book titled, “The Cycling Adventures of Coconut Head: A North American Odyssey.”

On the cover of the book were two nude cyclists, smiling at the camera, with a big blue bar covering their exposed body parts.

To some, this may seem like a strange and somewhat inappropriate gift to be given by your aunt and uncle, but to me, this was a classic Tom and Christ present. Over the years my aunt and uncle have presented me with a number of strange and wonderful gifts… and this book was certainly no exception.

As soon as I opened the book and began to read, I knew that this book was special. By page 50 I was more than hooked; I was a raving “Coconut Head” fan!

Ted Schredd’s book has inspired me in so many different ways… and it is with great pleasure that I present to you today, my interview with this amazing man.

    Hey Darren:
Well, I must say that your interviewing skills have improved but the main thing I would like to see you work on is the volume difference of your voice compared to your guest’s voice.
I found that it was necessary to have my fingers on the volume control button/knob during the entire interview (all of your work so far has been this way) in order to keep from blowing out my speakers when you talk and likewise to turn the volume way up in order to hear your guest.

    Great interview!
You ask very good questions and seem to be well prepared. My guess is that because you enjoyed the book so much and Ted is such an interesting guy that it was the easiest interview you ever did.
I would love to hear more about Ted so think up some new questions and get him on again…Please!
Regards from Tom in Florence, SC.
