Bicycle Touring Pro Is Two Years Old

Today, Bicycle Touring Pro turns two!
On October 27th, 2007 I wrote my first post for BicycleTouringPro.com with the intention of helping my friend Brandon plan, prepare for, and execute his first long distance bicycle adventure. Since that time I have published “The Bicycle Traveler’s Blueprint,” created “The Ultimate Guide To Free Lodging,” and written over 320 articles on the subjects of bicycle touring, world travel and lifestyle design.
After two years of work, Bicycle Touring Pro now has a worldwide readership. There are over 15,000 monthly readers, 2,000+ email subscribers , 1,100+ Twitter followers, 300 Facebook fans, 126 YouTube subscribers and 320+ daily RSS readers. These aren’t huge numbers, but I’m proud to have pulled together such a great group of people who are so passionately interested in such an niche subject matter.
This year was especially great for me because I had the chance to travel to Europe and spend nine months riding my bicycle through 16 European countries. Not only was this an excellent chance for me to demonstrate the principles I talk about on this site, but it gave me the opportunity to meet and communicate with so many other bicycle travelers from around the world.
Running Bicycle Touring Pro over the past two years has been absolutely phenomenal. Running this site has taught me so much and made me such a better person. And I hope, in some small way at least, that the content I’ve produced for you over the past two years has improved your life as well.
I have a lot planned for Bicycle Touring Pro in the future and I’m excited about the year to come. More than anything I’m amped because of the opportunity I have to introduce even more people to the joys of bicycle travel.
Whether you are a new reader or one who has been with me since the very beginning, thank you for being a part of the community here at Bicycle Touring Pro… and maybe, just maybe, I’ll see you out there on the road this year!
Wow, impressive achievement, good to see this site going so strong. Looks like we both pretty much started our site at the same time, my blog birthday is in 2 months! Keep your many great updates coming and hopefully we will get to work together a bit more in the near future.

Thank you Andreas and Norm. Andreas, yes, we did start around the same time, which is awesome! And yes, let’s keep in touch and see what we can do. Norm, I got a Kawasaki KLR 650 (2009). I’ll share a little about it on the site here in he future, as I plan to do some (motor)bike touring with it next summer/fall.
