Down The Road With Tim And Cindie Travis: An Audio Interview

Tim and Cindie Travis are, what I consider to be, celebrities in the world of bicycle travel.

This humble, seemingly ordinary couple from Prescott, Arizona have been traveling around the world for the past seven-and-a-half years… and they have no plans of stopping any time soon!

While on the road, they manage a website about their travels and have written two books about their experiences thus far.

I recently got Tim and Cindie on the phone to ask about their trip, their lifestyle, and their motivations behind such an extreme bicycle touring adventure.

During my interview with the couple, I stayed away from the typical bicycle touring questions (i.e. what type of equipment are you using, how many miles do you ride in a day, etc.) and instead, drilled them on their motivations behind this wild and crazy lifestyle.

I asked them:

Why did you want to do this trip in the first place? Why do you like living this way?
With all the free time you have, what do you spend most of your time thinking about?
How do you pay for your travels if you don’t have a job and you don’t plan on ever getting one?
Has there even been a time when you’ve wanted to quit and come home? And if so, how did you overcome that challenge?
What advice do you have for others who might want to follow in your footsteps?
And what are your plans for the future?
