If so, great choice! I bought the same model when it came out in '08. I had it reserved for me and people who wanted it after that offered me $500 just to buy my reservation! I'm very glad i stuck with it though because it's a rock solid touring bike. I find myself in a very similar situation to yours; I am 20 and live in milwaukee wisconsin, and have done a few small tours with my buddies but am extremely excited to go on a longer one. My friend and i are planning a round trip from milwaukee to thunder bay ontario this june that i am so giddy about. I'm so glad to know there are so many people out there who are as excited to do this kind of stuff, especially a girl at 20. I applaud you for not falling into the crowd that says girls aren't supposed to do these kinds of things. i wish i knew more girls like you. I'm actually in a very similar situation to Erika. Summer '08 I started bike touring also and did a 400 mile tour. This was to prepare me for bigger trips as well.
