Hosted By Greg And Olivia In Johannesburg, South Africa

While in Poland I posted a message to the Bicycle Touring Pro Facebook page asking if anyone living in Johannesburg, South Africa would be kind enough to host me at their home for a night or two upon my arrival in the country on the first of March, 2013. Olivia Pellegrini messaged me and said that she and her partner Greg Peake would be happy to host me in their home.

Greg met me at the airport and together we drove back to his cozy 2-bedroom home just 15 minutes from the airport. Once there I was introduced to Greg’s daughter, Bianca (age 8), and his son, Jason (age 14).

I stayed with Greg and Olivia for two nights before jumping on another airplane and flying to Cape Town for the start of my mountain bike tour with African Bikers.

While I was with Greg, Olivia, Jason and Bianca, we rode bicycles, ate pizza and ice cream, walked to the local store, discussed South African music and had a great time getting to know one another.
