Safety & Style: Free Products From CycleAware

November 22, 2008 by Darren Alff

You may remember CycleAware from my extensive review of their different types of bicycle mirrors… or from my trip to Las Vegas where I worked with CycleAware to help educate bike shop owners about bicycle mirrors and safety.

CycleAware has been kind enough to donate a number of products for this event and we’re going to give away two of them right now! Here they are:

Stow-Away™

Stow-Away™ is a lightweight, reflective mesh backpack that folds into its own pocket and stows compactly in a jacket or cycling jersey.  When the day heats up after a frosty morning, Stow-Away will hold the layers of clothing a rider needs to shed.  Its durable fabric will carry plenty of cycling gear, clothing and food.  The maximum air flow allowed by the nylon mesh keeps its wearer and contents cool and dry.  Later, when the sun goes down and leaves a rider in the dark, Stow-Away’s super-reflective spinning wheel logo will be highly visible to motorists.  Stow-Away has a plastic sleeve for carrying cash and identification, and comes equipped with a key hook and lanyard.

Stow-Away is great for road cycling, mountain biking, commuting, running, skating, hiking, camping.

  • Reflective
  • Lightweight (100g/3.5oz.)
  • Packable (rolls down to: 20cm x 4cm dia.)

Reflex:

The ultimate, hassle-free solution for cyclists on city streets and on narrow, winding country roads who need an effective way to see what’s coming up behind them. The unique “Gumby”-like Kraton covered wire makes Reflex the first and only flexible and fully adjustable helmet mirror. The generously oval shaped mirror on Reflex provides a larger field of view than other mirrors and its vertical aspect increases depth of field.

Reflex mounts with a ball-and-socket arrangement so you can effortlessly find the best viewing angle without getting dizzy trying to focus. Reflex has a small base that sticks permanently onto any helmet and is guaranteed not to come loose or fall off over time. When you want to use Reflex, push it onto the base and when you don’t want it, simply pull it off.

It also has a handy rotating arm allowing you to flip Reflex back out of the way when you don’t need it and then easily dial it back into position.

  • Adjust or remove Reflex easily
  • No Hassle Installation
  • Removable
  • Extra Wide Angle View
  • Fits On All Helmets
  • Stays in Adjustment
  • Weighs only 0.7 ounces (21.8 grams)

And The Winners Are…

  • Carole Stuart (Stow-Away)
  • Bob Torres (Reflex)
