Send Me A Postcard From Your Bicycle Tour

This article was origionally published on June 12, 2008.
I’ve started a fun little project… and I want you to be a part of it!
When out on your bicycle tour, send me a postcard from the area you are visiting and I will post both the front and the back of the postcard below. My hope is that after a couple years I will have compiled a somewhat massive and impressive collection of postcards from around the world.
If you’re interested in participating, all you have to do is send a postcard from your travels to the following address:
BicycleTouringPro.com
PO Box 982216
Park City, UT 84098
USA
Be sure to include a small note on the back of the postcard in which you explain where you are, what you are doing, and any other messsage you would like to share.
Here are the postcards received thus far:
The Bicycle Touring Pro logo appears over the front of the postcards
in order to protect the original images found on the postcards. Sorry

The BicycleTouringPro.com logo appears over the front of the postcards
in order to protect the original images found on the postcards.

Please consider posting your postcard pictures without the “Bicycle Touring Pro” foreground; I find it very distracting.
Thanks,
Ray
Ray, I think the logo is distracting as well! The reason the logo is over the postcards is because I don’t want to get in legal trouble for publishing these photographs and postcards without the consent of each of the artists. The logo is over each of these images in order to protect the work of the artists. Sorry, but they’ve got to stay for legal purposes.
Hi Darren,
Glad to hear you got the postcard. Thanks so much for posting it on your site – it’s such a cool idea!
I think my favorite part of bicycle touring was getting off the beaten track and seeing the world from a unique perspective. I think everyone should try some sort of bicycle touring during their lifetime. My one favorite experience was riding through Laos with a few other bicycle tourists. We all met randomly but ended up traveling together for about 10 days. It was awesome.
Europe was fantastic. Food and accommodation were plentiful. Our favorite countries were Croatia and Portugal. Both were really good values. In addition, the people were very friendly and the landscapes were diverse and beautiful. German will be a very useful language throughout Europe. We found that northern Italy also spoke a lot of German.
Transportation is pretty easy if you want to cover some big distances. Spain and Portugal aren’t so good for trains, but every other country we traveled through seemed accommodate bicycles. Most cities had some amount of bicycle lanes (except for Lisbon) and bicycles were very integrated.
I could probably babble on and on. Hopefully this has been helpful.
Thanks again for putting up the postcard. Keep in touch.
Cheers,
Leslie Kehmeier
Hello Darren,
Last Sunday I submitted a photo to 21 bikes.
I`m sorry to say so, but the text of this site is (very) difficult to read.
It is not dark enough. The colour is grey which makes it very difficult to read.
I checked it on three different computers and screens but
The text on your other site: bicycletouringpro.com is very clear and readable

I tried to send an email via your normal email but it wasn`t possible. So i try to do it this way
Hi Frank. Yes, I know the text on 21bikes is gray. The site is currently undergoing a total redesign and the text on the new site will be darker and easier to read. Thank you for your comments.
