Photos From My First Off-Road Mountain Bike Tour

July 29, 2011 by

The above are just some of the photos I took during a recent two-day mountain biking tour in the mountains above Park City, Utah, USA. On day one of the tour I traveled from an elevation of 7,500 feet to an elevation of 10,500 feet and made camp. The next day, I cycled a short distance across the ridge-line before cutting through Park City Mountain Resort and heading home. The purpose of this tour was not to cover a large mount of ground, but to simply get away from my home for a little while and to test out the Freeload touring racks that were sent to me from New Zealand.

That mountain bike has sexy curves Darren.

Haven’t seen one like it in NZ.

you obviously have an enviable life bicycle travelling. Good on you for encouraging others to do the same. I am 68 in December but hope I still have a few bike travel adventures in the future. I have successfully returned to biking, in NZ, Australia, and Switzerland following a serious health woe – aorta replacement and stroke not so long ago.

Have two books published of my cycling journeys. One was read on Radio NZ.

    Best regards, RS.

    Hi Darren,
Great photos! Its funny you sent this because i am going on a short ride from downtown Mpls to Stillwater,mn. Only theirs the great Mississippi river!! I bought a trek 830 for 20 usd! It works perfect! The guy needed a few bucks! This past month i have lost 17 pounds, just because of being active compared to being in Wendover,nv. I really have to say that minnesota is biker heaven! Be safe!
