A week ago I announced that I would be giving away a copy of David V. Herlihy’s new book, The Lost Cyclist, along with $80 USD worth of additional products to a single BicycleTouringPro.com reader. To win, all you had to do was go to this page and leave a comment telling me one thing you’ve learned from being a part of the Bicycle Touring Pro community.

I wish I had gifts to give away to everyone who left a comment, but I’ve only got this one prize at the moment. Home is simply a state of mind! Thanks Darren, for the radical and well-planned perspective of life lived outside the office, on the road and with two wheels underneath you. I am 23 and will be embarking on a long-term, non-traditional life plan in the coming months.

What you have given me, in addition to a COMPLETE background in tour biking…security in the little voice in the back of my head- that my dreams (of bike trips of course) are not only 100% doable but are the essential next step in understanding myself as a person of knowledge, leisure, adventure, hard work, creativity, self-sufficiency, integrity, commitment and beyond, beyond, beyond.
