Brandon’s biggest fear about bicycle touring in Iceland was that the relatively skinny tires on his Trek 520 touring bicycle would be unable to cope with the dirt and gravel roads in Iceland’s inner regions. In the end, his bicycle (and its tires) handled the off-road riding just fine. Skinny road tires may not be the best choice for an extended off-road bicycle touring adventure, but they do work on shorter and less-rocky tracks.
