Free Camping, Hotels And Lodging For Your Travels (Video Recording)

February 16, 2010 by

Earlier tonight I held a live video broadcast on Ustream where I spent a little over a half-hour discussing the topic of free lodging for bicycle travelers.

I promised to record the event for those of you who were unable to attend the live broadcast, but (would you believe it!) I forgot to press the record button until I was about half-way through the broadcast.

But don’t worry!

I promised to record the entire thing for you… so I went back and re-recorded the entire event for those of you who were unable to attend the live airing. It took some time, but I did it… just for you!

The video above is approximately 35 minutes in length and I highly recommend you watch the entire thing. In the video I mention a number of different website resources and other information you can use to find free accommodations on you travels.

In the video I also discuss “The Ultimate Guide To Free Lodging,” which you can read more about by visiting the address listed below:

    This was very helpful. Thanks!

Your link to Couch Surfing is misspelled. I figured it out too.

    HI Sara,

All of the information covered in this video (and a whole lot more) can be found here: http://bicycletouringpro.com/blog/traveling-cyclists-guide-to-free-hotels-campgrounds/ The Ultimate Guide to Free Lodging is a 100-page write up of everything I have ever done to obtain free hotels and campgrounds for my travels. And it walks you through the process of how to get free lodging on your travels as well. Hope that helps!

Hey you’ve done a great job with your website. Love all the tips. You should write a guide on how to be an internet entrepreneur with your website– doing what you love, which has worked out well for you.

Hey, great first six minutes of the video, but is it just me or can one no longer watch the rest of the video, past the first six minutes?

dying to watch the rest of this video,
    Paul

  12. Bicycle Touring Pro on April 11th, 2011 8:09 am

    Hey Paul,

You should be able to watch the entire video without any problems. That said, I am in the middle of nowhere in Peru right now and my Internet connection isn’t fast enough to play videos of any kind, so I can’t actually check that fact for myself. Maybe someone else can confirm whether or not the video plays past the 6 minute mark. It has been working just fine for months, so I don’t know why it would suddenly start stopping at the 6 minute mark.

Enjoyed your presentation on “Free Accommodations”. I’ve practiced some of your
techniques and they do work. People are super-nice and generous .. if you don’t
appear to threaten or annoy them. You give bicyclists invaluable useful info. Keep
    on doing what you’re doing.

This summer I will either ride to NiagaraFalls or to Holman,NM to make a DVD of my
life. My daughter has asked me to do that. I can ride to NiagaraFalls the next
    summer.

    I’m a dummy, what’s a “gravatari” ?

  14. Bicycle Touring Pro on May 15th, 2011 6:32 pm

Ha. A Gravatar is just the little picture that appears next to your name when you post a comment on a website like this one. They aren’t necessary. They are just something that some people like to have when they are leaving comments on a website.
