Bike Switzerland Challenge Tour – Day 1

The first day of the Bike Switzerland Challenge Tour began early. There were 10 of us participating in the tour, Claude – our leader, and Mark – who was preparing our lunches and driving the van each day. We started at the Bike Switzerland Welcome Center in Geneva and stopped for lunch in the lakeside city of Rolle. Then we cycled along the shores of Lausanne before climbing through steep hillside vineyards to our hotel in the small town of Chexbres. From our hotel room, my roommate Barry and I had an incredible view of the lake below and the mountains far off in the distance.
