Cycling from Campulung To Bran, Romania

The bike ride from my campground near Lake Rausor to the city of Bran where Dracula’s castle is located was 65 kilometers of constant up and downs. There were two large climbs to tackle and two other slightly smaller uphill sections. Along the way I cycled through charming Transylvanian villages – some of which looked like they were straight out of a fairy tale. The best part of the ride, however, was the final downhill leg into Bran itself. I arrived in the small tourist town just before it got dark and checked myself into a hotel for two nights. Total cost 100 Romania Leu per night (about $28.50 USD).
