Autumn In Bulgaria

It always amazes me how the landscape can change so dramatically when crossing from one country to the next. Cycling through Turkey was like riding through a colorless desert in the middle of Africa, but as soon as I crossed the border and made my way into Bulgaria the landscape seemed to instantly change into thick woods splashed with fall colors.

I snapped these two photos just moments after crossing into Bulgaria at the Derekoy border crossing and moments before cycling into the tiny town of Malko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.
