When you start to look at the various touring bicycles being sold today, what you will quickly discover is that touring bicycles of different types generally use the same or similar size wheels and tires. For example: sport touring bicycles usually have narrow 700c wheels and tires, whereas off-road touring bicycles usually use wider 26 or 29 inch wheels and tires. So, when you go to purchase a new touring bicycle, you want to make sure that the wheels and tires on your new touring bicycle matches with the type of bicycle touring that you wish to be conducting most frequently in the future.
