Camping Outside Skaftafell National Park

I’ll admit it. I sometimes go a lot further out of my way than I need to in order to secure a sensational campground for the night.

After cycling into Skaftafell National Park, I dragged Brandon and his bicycle out the the western edge of the Park and forced him to camp in the rocky riverbed that we found there. It took quite a bit of work to get to this location with our bicycles in tow, but I think it was ultimately worth it. It turned out to be one of my favorite campsites in all of Iceland.
