One of the major downsides to traveling by yourself is that you have no one to take your picture. Almost all of the photos you’ve seen of me traveling around Europe this year have involved me either turning the camera around on myself (as in the two photos above) or setting the camera on a tripod before running back into the frame and posing before the timer goes off.

My time in Lviv, Ukraine (and the pure lack of self-portraits I took in this city) has made me realize I need to make the effort to take more photos of myself as I’m traveling. I have lots of photos of the things I’ve seen and done on my travels, but far too few with me actually in the photo.

Can you relate? How do you suggest I remedy this situation? What would you do to get more photos of yourself when traveling the world alone?
