My room at the Hotel Cosmos in downtown Chisinau, Moldova was a little expensive (and a little dated), but at least I got a free breakfast delivered to my room each morning. At around 9 AM each morning I would receive a knock on my door and outside I would find an elderly woman dressed in a 1950’s style nurses gown. Without saying a word, the woman would hand me a large brown paper bag. Inside the bag would be a cup of tea and a cup of coffee, half a sandwich, a small muffin and two packages of cream and sugar.
