Old Shorts – New Shorts

I’ve gone through two pairs of shorts already… and now I’m onto my third pair. I destroyed my first pair of shorts in Belgium when I sat on a sap covered tree stump. When I got up, I had a sticky yellow substance all over my butt. My second pair of shorts (the pair on the left in the photo above), which I bought in France at H&M for 15 Euros, has faded in such a way that it looks like I’m walking around with a full-time pee stain near my crotch. And today I bought my third pair of shorts, which I’m not 100% thrilled about because of both the fit and the material used, but I’ll have to settle with simply because I couldn’t find anything better.

Seriously, where are all the mens shorts out here in Eastern Europe? I spent weeks walking around Turkey looking for a pair of shorts and couldn’t find anything that wasn’t plaid, bright orange, or ridiculously old fashioned. I thought I would be able to find some good shorts here in Bulgaria, but even here I wasn’t able to find much. The truth is, most of the shops in this part of the world are for women. There is little (almost nothing for men). So for now, I’ve settled on a pair of gray athletic shorts that are a little too tight for my liking. The good news is, winter is on its way and I probably won’t be wearing shorts for very much longer.
