The coronavirus has millions of people around the world trapped inside their homes – not working and not traveling. In many parts of the world, going outside during certain times of the day (even for essentials) is strictly forbidden. Now, many bicycle tourists around the world have either canceled or postponed their bicycle touring adventures… and some cyclists, who were currently on the road, have had to stop traveling at the moment in order to wait out the situation where they are in order to see what happens next.
So, what does all this mean for the future of bike travel? Is the 2020 bicycle touring season completely finished now? And will it be possible to travel by bike in the future?
On Sunday, March 22nd, 2020, Darren Alff (the Bicycle Touring Pro) conducted a LIVE YouTube web event in which he addressed the current coronavirus pandemic and shared his thoughts on the future of bike travel.
Watch the video above to view a video replay of that LIVE YouTube webinar and listen in as the Bicycle Touring Pro discusses his thoughts on the future of bike travel and bicycle tourism in the era of the coronavirus.
