Day Two At The 2012 Tour De France

On the second day of the 2012 Tour de France I jumped in the back of Pim’s work van and hitched a ride just a short distance down the road to the Coccinelle, a small restaurant situated along the Tour de France race course. Pim and Joost and I ate some delicious ice cream and fruit covered crepes and then marched up the hill near the restaurant to secure our spots for watching the racers pass by. While we were sitting there and waiting for the cars, motorcycles, sponsors and cyclists to ride past, we were joined by a teacher from Colorado who was touring around Europe on a bicycle tour of his own. After the race was over, this teacher cycled with me back to the Hony campground, where he then spent the night and cycled off early the next morning.
