Another way you might choose to carry the gear you need for your bicycle tour is to carry it in a trailer. A trailer is a large, one or two wheeled device that you pull be hind your bicycle – and the trailer usually attached to your bicycle at the rear axle or from your seat post.

There are a lot of bicycle trailers you can buy, but these two trailers are the most popular and most highly regarded in the bicycle touring community:
- BOB Yak Plus bicycle trailer (for road-based bike tours).
- BOB Ibex Plus bicycle trailer (for off-road bike tours).
This is the trailer featured in this video. It’s not as high-quality as the BOB trailers above, but it’s less expensive and can be used on shorter and lighter bicycle touring expeditions.
- Maya Cycle bicycle trailer (a less expensive trailer for absolute beginners).
